TYRUN is the fitness race that challenges you in every area: endurance, explosiveness, mental resilience and functional strength. And as TYRUN's official gear partner, ZEUZ makes sure you are ready. In this blog, you will read everything about TYRUN, how to prepare with hybrid training and which ZEUZ products will help you reach the top.
What is TYRUN?
TYRUN is a seasonal fitness race, born in Belgium and built for the modern hybrid athlete. While other races repeat a fixed formula, TYRUN does not. Every season features a new workout. New fitness exercises. New distances. New standards.
That is exactly what makes TYRUN unique: it evolves. The structure remains consistent, a combination of cardio and functional strength movements, but the content changes every season. This forces you as an athlete to adapt: build fitness, get stronger and come back better than before.
The result? A race that rewards versatility, endurance and perseverance. No tricks, no specialization. Simply: the all-round athlete.

How is TYRUN structured?
Every TYRUN race consists of 12 elements, always built around 3 pillars: running, cardio and strength. This structure is at the heart of the concept. You run, move on to a cardio exercise, complete a strength movement and repeat that for 4 rounds. That rhythm never changes. What does change is the content: every season, the exercises, distances and weights get a new twist. This keeps the race surprising and challenging, even for returning participants.
Choose your division
TYRUN has three different divisions, so everyone can start at their own level:
- Scaled: For beginners and first-time racers. Lower weights, but the full format. Focus on experience and building confidence.
- Open: The standard competition level. Higher intensity, with moderate weights. For athletes with a solid fitness foundation.
- Pro: Heaviest weights, maximum complexity. For advanced and elite athletes who want to perform under pressure.
Whether you are racing for the first time or have been training for years: there is a division that suits you.
How do you prepare for TYRUN?
TYRUN requires a hybrid training approach. That means strength and conditioning training, combined into one strategy. The all-round athlete does not choose; they train everything.
Hybrid training: the foundation
The key to a strong TYRUN performance is training functional strength and cardio endurance in the same session. Think of supersets where you go straight from a squat to the rower, or EMOMs with kettlebell swings and ski sprints. This gets your body used to the transition between strength and conditioning, exactly what TYRUN demands of you.
What to focus on in your training plan:
- Kettlebell swings for functional strength and hip power.
- Walking lunges for leg strength and stability under fatigue.
- Box jumps for strength and explosiveness.
- Ski, row, and bike for aerobic capacity and raising your lactate threshold.
- Sandbag carries for functional grip and core strength.
Performance mindset
TYRUN is not just a physical challenge. It is also a mental test. Strength and conditioning will take you far, but it is your mindset that makes the difference when things get tough. In the final round, with tired legs and shortness of breath, it is your mindset that gets you across the finish line. So train not only your body, but also your ability to accept discomfort and keep going. Seek out discomfort in training so it feels familiar on race day. Because on race day, the athlete who wins is not always the strongest or the fastest, it is the athlete who does not give up.
